Who says swag suites are all about getting? Becki Newton, who plays deliciously catty Amanda on Ugly Betty, donated a silk green and white Diane von Furstenburg wrap dress (size 0, of course) to Working Wardrobes, a nonprofit organization that helps at-risk men and women move toward self-sufficiency with everything from job training to new clothing. Newton brought the dress to the Luxury Lounge's Marie Claire gifting suite and explained its special meaning: she'd worn it for her Ugly Betty screen test. "It was her lucky dress," said a charity rep. "She knows how much confidence the dress gave her, and she wanted to give that to someone else." Other donated dresses included Debra Messing's white drop-waist number by Ports (size 4), along with styles from Debra Messing, Adriana Barraza and Lisa Edelstein. All items will be auctioned off during the launch of Working Wardrobes' eBay store on June 1, 2007. Until then, visit workingwardrobes.org for more information.
